Position Title :Skilled Trade Apprentice: Apprenticeship for Filling 4-Door Trucks / Maximizing Travel Efficiency

Position Overview :
We are seeking two enthusiastic and detail-driven apprentices to assist in preparing 4-door trucks for plumbing and service jobs, with a focus on maximizing space efficiency and ensuring the smooth travel of field technicians. This apprenticeship is designed to provide practical experience in logistics, inventory management, and travel optimization. You will learn how to effectively load trucks, minimize travel disruptions, and ensure all necessary tools and materials are available for daily jobs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in organizing and loading 4-door trucks with tools, materials, and supplies for scheduled jobs, ensuring maximum use of space.
• Collaborate with field technicians to understand the tools and materials required for each job.
• Ensure trucks are stocked with the necessary supplies, including spare parts, safety equipment, and tools, to minimize trips back to the warehouse.
• Learn and implement best practices for packing and securing equipment to reduce wear and tear during travel.
• Monitor and report any maintenance or safety concerns related to the truck or equipment storage areas.
• Coordinate with warehouse staff to keep accurate records of inventory used in trucks and track materials for restocking.
• Support the field team by ensuring efficient job site readiness and minimizing downtime due to missing materials or equipment.
• Follow safety protocols when handling and securing tools and materials in trucks.
• Assist in identifying opportunities for improving travel efficiency and reducing fuel or time wastage.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or field technicians.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (current students may apply if schedule allows).
• Interest in logistics, inventory management, and working with service vehicles.
• Ability to lift and organize heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) in a confined space.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work well independently and in a team.
• Basic understanding of truck maintenance and safety (preferred but not required).
• Valid driver’s license (preferred).

Skills You Will Develop:

• Knowledge of logistics and inventory management within service vehicles.
• Expertise in organizing materials and tools to maximize space and efficiency.
• Practical experience in reducing travel time and optimizing job readiness.
• Familiarity with the tools and materials used in the plumbing and service industry.
• Understanding of vehicle maintenance and safe transport of materials.
