Spectrum Software Technology (SST) is currently seeking an Oracle Database Administrator for our civil aviation programs. BS or higher in related field with 10+ years of experience, or 17+ years of experience without degree. Must have strong Oracle knowledge and some SQL experience. The position is based at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)’s William J. Hughes Technical Center adjacent to the Atlantic City International Airport, New Jersey. Hybrid with 2-3 days per week onsite. The DBA builds, configures, and administers Production, Test, and Development Databases for FAA Traffic Flow Management System (TFMS), National Traffic Management Log (NTML), and Departure Spacing Program (DSP). Migrate, configure, and administer Production, Test, and Development Databases for FAA Traffic Flow Management – Modernization TFM-M (DCCT). Essential Job Functions: Provide 24/7 Production, Test, and Development Systems Support. Install and Upgrade Oracle Cluster Software, Oracle RDBMS Software for 10g, 11g, and 12c. Install and Configure the Oracle Weblogic, Oracle Report, Oracle OFM Webtier, Oracle Discover, Oracle Server, and Oracle APEX. Install, Configure, and Manage the Oracle Data Guard Database in Oracle Cluster environment. Install SQL Server 2005/2007 and create and configure SQL Server instances. Manage Oracle Grid including converting Oracle Datafiles from file system to ASM, adding or dropping nodes. Migrate FAA Traffic Flow Management-Modernization DCCT to NJ FAA tech center – Databases including the Oracle and SQL Server. Database Performance Tuning including debugging, modifying OS kernel and Oracle initial parameters, and SQL tuning. Troubleshoot various issues related to the database and applications – Oracle and SQL Server. Manage and maintain OLTP Databases with over 400G. Create various database maintenance scripts for backup and recovery (RMAN, data pump), monitor and check Database status, and capture the Database warning or alert messages. Create user-friendly applications to support web applications by adding, checking, or correcting application data. Application support including debugging the code, correcting the data, modifying the codes, and creating reports to support management decisions, QA Groups, and customer requirements. As the key person, responsible for all types of databases to support applications for the FAA TFM-2 project, DSP, NTML, TSS, and Data Quality projects including analyzing the data and debugging/modifying the application codes. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field with 10+ years of related experience, or 17+ years of experience without a degree. Previous experience as an Oracle DBA. Strong Oracle knowledge. SQL experience. Previous FAA experience is a bonus but not required.
