Job Description

This Florida-based decor and event rentals company is seeking a design-forward, operations-driven General Manager to lead the full scope of our event rental business. You’ll oversee daily operations, manage department leaders, and implement scalable systems that drive growth, efficiency, and exceptional client experiences.

This newly created senior leadership role supports the owners' newly remote transition to Minnesota. You’ll manage a well-established business with a strong team and solid foundational systems—but there's a meaningful opportunity to refine, optimize, and elevate how they operate at every level.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with deep event rental experience, a process-oriented mindset, and a sharp eye for aesthetics, presentation, and decor detail. This role blends strategic thinking with creative execution, ensuring their brand is reflected beautifully in every touchpoint.

About the company

This Florida-based event rental company is family-owned and operated, based in Tampa, Florida, and proudly serving corporate clients across Central and Southwest Florida. They specialize in design-forward rental solutions and elevated service that reflect the professionalism and vision of each brand they support. They understand that every detail matters—especially in the world of special events, where they have the honor of supporting some of life’s most meaningful moments. Whether it’s a wedding, gala, or corporate celebration, this team approaches each event with genuine passion, care, and precision.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Culture

  • Lead all departments, including sales, operations, warehouse, and delivery.
  • Promote a collaborative, high-performance culture grounded in hospitality and accountability.
  • Develop department leads and align the team with company growth goals.
  • Implement and manage EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) or similar system across the organization.
  • Cultivate a team-wide appreciation for details, beauty, and brand integrity—at every level.

Operations, Logistics & Systems

  • Oversee daily operations, inventory flow, delivery logistics, and field setup.
  • Establish SOPs for efficiency, consistency, and scalability across departments.
  • Ensure warehouse and staging processes support both speed and visual polish.
  • Use performance data to drive process improvements and cost savings.
  • Balance backend efficiency with front-end excellence—ensuring everything looks as good as it functions.

Quality Control

  • Lead quality assurance across all rental categories.
  • Ensure every item leaves the warehouse clean, intact, and brand-aligned.
  • Develop and maintain high standards for repair, inspection, and product upkeep.
  • Enforce accountability systems for product damage, wear, and presentation.

Strategic Planning & Execution

  • Partner with ownership to execute 90-day, 1-year, and 3-year goals, including revenue growth and operational scalability.
  • Lead cross-department initiatives to streamline workflows and elevate client experience.
  • Implement new tools, vendors, and systems that support creative and operational innovation.
  • Align internal goals with our external brand vision—from warehouse to showroom to event site.

Client Experience & Event Support

  • Oversee white-glove client service from quote to post-event wrap-up.
  • Collaborate with planners, venues, and high-end clients to deliver seamless execution.
  • Personally manage top-tier jobs to ensure setup, styling, and staging reflect the company brand.
  • Flexible to work evenings/weekends to support signature installs or urgent fulfillment needs.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of leadership experience in the event rental industry (e.g., furniture, tabletop, tenting, production).
  • Creative instincts and visual polish—able to ensure that staging, product prep, and event flow align with design goals.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory systems, delivery timelines, warehouse efficiency, and crew management.
  • Experience using rental platforms (e.g., Goodshuffle Pro), Google Workspace, and internal SOP tools.
  • Proven ability to manage logistics, operations, warehouse teams, and client service with excellence.
  • Confident communicator, thoughtful problem-solver, and team-minded mentor.
  • Hands-on and calm under pressure, able to lead across departments and adapt in real time.

Benefits: 3% 401K match, 50% paid health insurance, paid vacation
