Job Description

My client are a leading national heavy civil contractor with a history of delivering the biggest and best projects across the country. With a national footprint and the best talent in the industry they continue to deliver civil infrastructure projects that change the way we move and live. Their projects range from hundreds of millions to billions in value.

This is an exciting opportunity to join their team in delivering the new Newark AirTrain project, an iconic $3.5 billion project that will change New Jersey's airport infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule.
  • Assume responsibility for planning, coordinating and supervising onsite functions (scheduling, subcontractor coordination, etc.).
  • Assume responsibility for compliance of crafts and subcontractors with contract documents, efficient use of materials & equipment, and timely performance of the project schedule.
  • Provide technical assistance, i.e., interpretation of drawings, recommending construction methods and equipment, etc., as required.
  • Assist project management in developing, project schedule, site logistics plan and implementing project procedures, working documents, standards, etc.
  • Support Site Specific Safety Plan.
  • Coordinate with on-site Owner employees.
  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.

Requirements:

  • Civil Engineering or related college degree and 20 years of supervisory field experience with large heavy civil infrastructure construction projects valued at $300 million plus.
  • Minimum of 15 years construction superintendent and/or craft supervision experience in new building construction, including, piles, concrete, structural steel and with emphasis on Mechanical Installations.
  • Knowledge, skills and experience with U.S. construction methods, techniques, and standards.
  • Experience with City, State, Federal Government Clients preferred
  • Knowledge of contract management and familiarity with local trade/unions/craft
  • MS Word/Excel, Procure, Bluebeam, HCSS Heavy bid
  • OSHA certification, First Aid Certs
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
